Terms of service
Draft. Not in effect. Optic isn't offered to outside customers yet, so there are no terms to agree to. This outline marks what the real terms need to cover. It hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer. The page is excluded from search engines until it's final.
Outline
- Parties and acceptance. [Legal entity, who can sign up, agreement on behalf of a company.]
- The service. [What Optic provides; early-access features may change or be withdrawn.]
- Accounts and API keys. [Keeping keys secret, one key per person, responsibility for actions taken with a key.]
- Acceptable use. [Lawful outreach only: anti-spam law (CAN-SPAM, CASL, PECR/GDPR), honoring opt-outs, no purchased lists that violate source terms, no scraping in breach of a site's terms.]
- Customer data. [The customer owns its data; Optic processes it to run the service; data processing terms.]
- Sending domains and reputation. [The customer is responsible for domains it connects and for approved messages.]
- Fees. [None during early access. Pricing to be set later.]
- Confidentiality.
- Warranties and disclaimers.
- Limitation of liability.
- Term, suspension and termination, including data export and deletion.
- Changes to these terms.
- Governing law.
